Kellan Reynolds, born on January 28, 2011, soon needed frequent treatment in the hospital, suffering from high fevers and other difficult symptoms. After years of uncertainty, Kellan was finally diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease, a disorder of the body's cells that affects approximately 1 in 4,000 people.
Kellan was a sweet, funny child. He loved fire trucks and washing machines. His favorite toy was Mr. Potato Head. Throughout his life, he spent dozens of visits in the hospital as his disease progressed. Donated toys were one of the few things that brought him joy and comfort in those hard times.
Kellan passed from the effects of Mitochondrial Disease on July 2, 2020, at the age of 9. To honor his legacy, Kellan's mother Donna began running toy drives and founded Kellan's Legacy of Love.
In 2024, Kellan's Legacy of Love donated over 2100 toys to St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, VA. Help us continue Kellan's legacy by supporting our work.
